In with the Old

Spring is the season of cleaning, freshening up our spaces, and getting rid of old items. While I loveee spring cleaning, I also can’t help but buy new items to replace the old. It may be known that I am a big shopper, but lately I have been trying to be more conscious of how I buy and from where. One of my favorite ways to prepare for any season (spring especially) is by going to antique stores or looking online for one of a kind pieces. By incorporating vintage items into a space, we are able to evoke a sense of nostalgia and charm that complements the season's renewal and blossoming atmosphere. Timeless pieces have the ability to breathe new life into any space, which is why I’m excited to share some treasures that I absolutely admire in keeping with spring sustainability. Keep in mind that online antique shopping is almost always more expensive than in-person, so these might serve as inspiration rather than a practical purchase for most

If you're looking to add character and charm to your home, the simplest, most effective method (in my opinion) is to collect items overtime rather than rushing into buying decor. The slow curation of antique and vintage decor will ensure you love every piece and feel a deeper appreciation for their history & beauty.

I am a huge sucker for a good antique chair. I have nowhere to put or store chairs and I have no reason to buy them, but for some reason they are the one piece of furniture that is constantly grabbing my attention when I’m in a store or looking online. A few of my favorite sites for beautifully designed vintage chairs and all other kinds of furniture is 1st Dibs, Lostine, and Hopp Home. There are so many more cool pieces I could link but I’ll keep it short! I may have to do a whole post just about chairs:)

Lighting is something that makes such a huge difference in any space, so it’s important to find pieces that add character and warmth to the home. One of the best ways to do this is being patient and collecting pieces that feel right in your home while making an impact on the space. A few of these aren’t vintage, but are handcrafted from quality materials and give off that timeless feel. Many online antique lighting options can be pricey, but going to a local antique store is sure to leave you with many options!
